Dr Konstantinos P. Vlachos, Professor Of Surgery, University Hospital Of Ioannina

Professor Of Surgery, Dr. Konstantinos P. Vlachos,  was born in 1965 in Germany. He graduated from Medical School at the University Of Thessaloniki (Military Medical School) in 1992. From 1995 to 2001 he specialized as a resident at 401 General Army Hospital of Athens and General hospital of Nikea. In 2001 he completed his residency and received his specialization as a General Surgeon. In 2002 he became a Dr. of Medicine at University of Athens.

Dr. Konstantinos P. Vlachos held the position of Consultant and Chief Of Surgery from 2001 to 2003 at various Military Hospitals. He received further training at Laparoscopic Surgery at St. Marys’s Hospital ASU, Imperial College in London UK

From 2004 to 2009 he was positioned as a consultant and Chief Surgeon in multiple military hospitals in Greece and in Albania (Military Hospital of Gjirokaster)    

From 2009 to 2010 he was a Visiting Professor  at the Laparoscopic Department at Ippokrateio Hospital in Athens.

In 2010 Dr. Konstantinos P. Vlachos became a Lecturer of Surgery at University Of Ioannina, becoming an Assistant Professor in 2013, an Associate Professor of surgery in 2019 and finally a Professor at University Of Ioannina on June 2023.

in 2017 he received further specialized training for Endocrine Glands at the Center Of  Endocrine Surgery at the University Hospital in Pisa, Italy. Upon his return to Ioannina he became the Chief of Endocrine Surgery Department at the University Of Ioannina.    

Dr. Vlachos has been nominated 5 times for his scientific publications in national and international conferences. Over the last 8 years he has participated in Seminars of the Hellenic Surgical Society and he is part of the training staff. He is also a trainer and coordinator of Advance Trauma Life Support (ATLS) in Ioannina while continuing to train resident doctors at the Surgical Department of University Of Ioannina.

Surgical Experience

Dr. Vlachos’ surgical experience is quiet extensive. He has a vast experience in multiple national and international hospitals, performing all levels of surgeries completing more than 3500 operations, in Greece, Italy, Albania and the UK.

 

As a result of his scientific activity Dr. Vlachos  has written 124 publications in Greek, 48 in international conferences and 48 articles from which 8 are in Greek medical journals and 40 in peer reviewed medical journals. He has also published 4 chapters at the Imperial College Press.
